Global Advocacy for Occupational Health

The GOSH Coalition of which IOHA is an active member is calling for greater worker protections globally and proposing changes to the UN SDGs as the current version of the goals gives insufficient attention to work-related health. Improvements in OSH are crucial if we are to achieve the health, wellbeing and economic outcomes envisioned by the goals. In summary, these changes propose stronger targets for reducing occupational injuries and illness, Basic Occupational Health Services for all workers, including informal workers, better protection for young workers, and protection of workers from adverse effects of climate change. IOHA President Nancy Wilk attended the United National Economic Social (ECOSOC) Partnerships Forum in February 2025 at the United Nations in New York City, NY, US, and submitted a written statement on behalf of IOHA and the GOSH Coalition calling for these changes. Please plan to attend this webinar as we seek to make occupational safety and health a global priority through our partnerships, collective efforts, and networks.
